Now MS have to pay the cost of creating an outdated culture by selling outdated software. It will be very difficult to change their mindset so dramatically. Hope they can do it, but I would not bet on it.

Microsoft seems to me to have perfect 20th Century products and crap 21st Century products. They must have realized that the masses will discover this "secret" soon. The US Army probably choosed Linux for their future weapon systems (200B USD) for some good reasons : “This will be an interim solution because over the long haul, eventually all of the Army’s networks will be Linux-based.” http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?F=3329623&C=america

Microsoft often describe the Free Software movement as a religious movement, but Microsoft has some striking similarities with the Taliban movement. They are "secret soldiers", everywhere and wish to return to an ideal age in history.
